I was five years old when the classic Christmas film The Polar Express was released. In fact, it was the first film I ever got to see in a theater. It instantly became my favorite movie as a kid, since I loved Christmas, trains, and orchestral music! I eventually got the soundtrack on CD and would listen to it on a portable CD player in our living room. I soon learned and memorized all the words to “When Christmas Comes to Town” and proudly performed it for my family (it might still be my best performance yet). Fast forward eighteen years, and my wife asked me to do an arrangement for her junior high choir! It was fun revisiting one of the classic songs of my childhood, as well as making it more accessible to choir students. I hope you enjoy singing it as much as I did when I was five years old!
