A Note From the Composer:
In a composer’s ideal world, they will receive a burst of inspiration followed by a frenzy of musical ideas that quickly take shape as they are thrown onto the page with great fervor and eloquence, and before they realize it, a new piece of music has been birthed! All in a good day’s work. But unfortunately… composers don’t live in an ideal world (or at least, I don’t), and we’re lucky to get one musical thought we’re truly satisfied with per day. But once in a blue moon, we may stumble upon the favor of fate, and we happen to receive a piece of music that presents itself to us without much trouble or fatigue. I’m lucky to say that The Crossover was one of those pieces. And while it’s short and simple, its identity seems to be thoroughly intact as it slowly but surely pulses its way through the darkness. The title comes from the vague image I see when I listen: Someone, or something, crossing an expanse to get to a new destination unknown. What it is, where it is, and why it’s happening is a mystery. I truly don’t know. But perhaps you will.
